Evolution of technology and internet has made it easier to buy any desirable product with just some clicks. You can avail your dream stuff at your doorstep these days. There are a lot of sites to buy both men and women stuff. But a site which offers women only stuff is something rare and different. Sheops is a startup website from Pakistan founded by Naida Patel which belongs to later kind.
A completely women oriented Startup
Sheops is a platform which completely addresses to female audience alone. Sellers are all females, buyers are all females. It all started with the idea of Nadia Patel when she felt that a lot of educated women are not utilizing their potential to earn due to some restrictions or problems.
How it all started
She started a group regarding buy/sell at Whatsapp with the help of family and friends. It then advanced into a Facebook buy/sell place for women.
She started organizing a community of talented women and helped them to sell their products. In this way, they got confidence in online business of buy/sell. Now they have an active website too where you can purchase their products.
In a matter of time, Sheops has nourished into a community of over 27000 women. And these women are active in buy and sell of new or mildly used products. Different niches include fashion, imported beauty products, trending jewelry, handcrafted products etc.
As per written on their website, “Sheops was incubated as a start-up at The Nest I/O in Feb 2015, which is a leading technology incubator in Pakistan, by P@SHA, sponsored by Google for Entrepreneurs and Samsung, and through a supporting grant from the US State Department, under a different name.”
Sheops got its first round of investment from Arpatech Technology Ventures which is an e-commerce group in Pakistan, in November 2015.
Vision & Mission
Sheops’s vision is to bring a change in the society by letting women contribute to the economy.
And their mission is to become “Pakistan’s most trusted and go-to online marketplace for women.”
