History of film and Animation
History of film dates back to 19th century with the advent of motion picture cameras. And as the things started to excel, different genres of movies came into existence.
One of them is animation. The first ever animated feature film to have both color and sound was Snow white and the seven dwarfs.
Now we can see around a lot of animated movies with 3d effects in them. These effects provide a photo-realistic experience to the audience. In 2015, Pakistan released its first animated movie named 3 Bahadur. Maybe it was probably a bit late as compared to the rest of the World but then there is a saying “better late than never”. Nonetheless it was a welcome step by Pakistani cinema and people loved its experience. Also just after 2 years, we are already seeing the signs of improvement, in the likes of Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor.
Allahyar & the Legend of Markhor, a direct competitor of Pixar
Almost each of us has seen animated movies like Toy Story and Kung fu Panda etc. Unarguably they are brilliant and provide immersive cinematic experience to the viewers of all ages. But pixar might be in trouble now because there is a new player in the market. Not from within the Hollywood, instead from Pakistan this time. Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor is a masterpiece by a Pakistani production cinema called 3rd world studios. Special thanks to the effort of the team behind this project.
The fact is that we have just seen the trailer of this movie. But we are pretty much sure that this might be the direct competitor of movies like Kung Fu panda. We can see an eagle covering distance over the pieces of land and water and then reaching out to what may be the hero of this movie, standing at the top of mountain. With breathtaking cinematography and sound experience, this movie already seems like a promising and big step towards the developing animation industry of Pakistan.
Future looks brighter than ever
With projects like these, it is quite visible that there is no shortage of talent, resources and creativity in Pakistan. Uzair Zaheer Khan, Ahmed Ali, Azfar Jafri (team members of Allahyar) are some of the names out of a plethora of hidden talent in Pakistan. And with efforts like these, it is safe to say that animation is going to play a big role in the development of Pakistan’s cinema industry
